Intersecting Identities: Cultural Competency Continuing Education

Whether you’re a mental health clinician, human services worker, or other healthcare provider, the CCCE course will give you an opportunity to delve deeper into your awareness of various cultural factors. This class qualifies for Continuing Education hours, and may meet criteria for Cultural Competence Continuing Ed requirements (CCCE), as designated by the Oregon Health Authority, and as required by many Oregon licensing boards.

Encountering the Somatic Body
(2, 4 and 6 continuing education hours)

Ground in to your whole self – body, soul, spirit – and learn how to identify, witness, and incorporate the somatic/spiritual/energetic body in to your daily life, organization, and practices. Participate in indigenous ritual, become more attuned and intuitive, and learn how to usher others in to the space of ancient wisdom and practical wellness. Being Together: The Ethics of Boundaries and Attachment
(4 and 6 continuing education hours)

This workshop introduces the concept of attachment, and helps us understand why our lived experience of emotional connection impacts our ability to navigate and set boundaries with others, including those we are helping. We will encounter the inner experience we have when we are close to others, and why it can be such a challenge to figure out how to set boundaries with ourselves and our clients. The workshop will be interactive, providing opportunities to consider the ethical invitation to build and maintain boundaries, both within ourselves and between ourselves and others.

Resilient Ethics: Healing from the Ground Up
(6 continuing education hours)

Engage with the principles of social justice, resiliency, liberation, and ethics. This workshop explores ways ethical challenges bring us opportunities to catalyze systemic and social change. Participants will explore historical factors associated with our current ethical codes, experience the power of group process, and grapple with ambiguity.

Self-Care Planning (Suicide Risk Assessment)
(2 continuing education hours)

This workshop provides an overview of safety risk assessment, specifically for clients utilizing self-harm and/or presenting with suicidal ideation. Learn how to walk a client through a self-care plan. Option to extend the workshop to problem solve current dilemmas.

Me, You, and Us: Practical Strategies for Managing Conflict and Connecting with Care
(6 continuing education hours)

Learn and practice use of practical boundary tools, communication strategies, techniques to manage conflict, and fresh approaches to connect with those around you mindfully and with care. Learn instant ways to ground yourself in the present moment when the emotional distress of relationships gets intense. This is a great workshop for groups of employees or colleagues – even family members!

Motivational Interviewing: How to get “Unstuck” when Helping Clients
(6 continuing education hours)

Learn how to navigate sticky situations with clients. What do you do when a client doesn’t want your help, or doesn’t believe they need to change? Learn how to identify where a client is in their stages of change, and rehearse asking open-ended questions to help clients explore new possibilities from within themselves.  Put yourself in the role of a provider and practice your new skills!
